MC2 won’t qualify as internal company events aren’t considered. The outcome of MC1 of Microsoft continuing the hackathon is not really strong or valid for the application.
OC2
Does it have significant engagement in terms of followership, likes, comments?
Mentorship evidences need to be in-person: were these in person?
OC3
What are the validation and third party evidences for your self-claims in all the 3 months evidences here?
Before going into the details of the evidence docs, I’m curious about what has been your role and type of tech companies you’ve worked for. From the examples you’ve given, I see telecom, consulting and oil & gas don’t necessarily fit the suitability set by TN. However it also depends on how technical was your role. So I’d suggest checking the applicant suitability section of the TN guide before working on the docs.
Your application shows strong potential for the Global Talent Visa. Your mandatory criteria evidence demonstrates significant achievements, particularly the Microsoft AI hackathon success and the high salary documentation. The speaking engagement at the HR event with substantial attendance adds credibility to your leadership capabilities. Your optional criteria evidence is diverse and impactful as well. The YouTube data series and mentorship activities show community engagement.
However, consider strengthening a few areas. Try to obtain more evidence of your impact beyond your immediate workplace. Look for opportunities to contribute to open-source projects or publish technical articles. The speaking engagement with 25 people might not be considered given the documentation updates since last month. Document any patents or innovative technical solutions you’ve developed.
Make sure all your evidence spans at least 12 months of activity to meet visa requirements. When presenting your cost-saving achievements, include detailed metrics and third-party validation where possible. Consider adding evidence of any academic achievements or research contributions if available.
Thank you for the feedback @gk_shan. My role for the last 3+ years has been in technical role from a data analyst, Business intelligence analyst and data engineer. By TN guideline, you can share your contribution from consulting, or any other field so far ones contribution to such project/product is technical. Open to more feedback. Thanks alot
This is such an invaluable feedback @Akash_Joshi. I am really grateful. I will definitely work on the areas you pointed out. The evidences also span 3 years, from the beginning of my career switch to tech till date. The 25 people engagements were added to beef up the evidences. Each OC2 and OC3 evidences contains two to three evidences warpped up in one. Eaither ways, I will strenghten it more as you adviced, I am grateful Akash
@pahuja
Pls is this a new update that one cannot use events from ones company? Never knew.
I showed message and congratulatory message from the group CEO on the win for the microsoft win, I also showed an evidence that shows that I was chosen to be part of a special squad that make digital transformation decisons for the Company across all 18 Opcos across Africa. More like being part of the digital transfromation Drivers for the company.
Thank you so much @pahuja for your sincere feedback. Let me know what you think about this again.
OC2
1.Not much followership though, I may have to beef it up with another evidence.
2. ooh, was it stated that it must be in person in the new guideline? I never knew, I thought it just have to have significant viewership and engagements.
OC3
I showed evidenced of the projects in production and currently used and comments from users of its value. my LORs also mentioned them in their the write up.
Thanks for clarifying @Mike_Adeyeye. I believe you would benefit from rethinking how you organize the evidence pieces. The MC docs are supposed to supersede OC ones in terms of the scale and level as well. Meaning, your high impact examples (like the agritech one but with numbers) that highlight your leadership and competitiveness must go up there. Winning at an event doesn’t necessarily tick the box for making an industry leading contribution.
As you progress into OC, you can show specific projects with success metrics and their attribution to you. Hope this helps.
