My Job title has the word "consultant", but that is just a very small part of my responsibility

Please any thoughts or guides?

I intend to apply for exceptional promise as a business applicant, however my job title has the word “Consultant”, - Subsurface Workflow Consultant, although I started off my career as a geologist. After going through the Tech Nation guide, I saw it was stated somewhere that “consultancy” belongs to specialism that are considered generally not suitable.

However, consulting for management is just a very small fraction of what i do, just about 5% or less whenever the need arises. I work in a Data and Workflow team, under Data and Digital Leadership in an E&P company and considering applying for Exceptional promise category, and plan to showcase - product expertise in building digital products in my application.

I have been involved in the building of some digital products used in interpretation of subsurface geodata, and data analytics.

Mandatory evidence:

I can show mandatory evidence of my involvement in the development of a digital product and use on a project on data migration across different platforms whilst still retaining data integrity, with email of appreciation evidence from Data & Digital Leadership. This project was the first of its kind and comprises a 6-man team with myself being the only one from my country, the outcome is to serve a blue print for further similar projects in the Group.

Optional evidences:

  • I can show evidence of training staff in another subsidiary of my parent company on the use of digital product, and identification of my skill set leading to this course i teach on digital a product now added to L&D official list of trainings for 2025.
  • I can show another email evidence of being identified as a SME the development of another digital subsurface product for subsurface data interpretation and analytics.
  • I can also show evidence of a high salary

Can I build on these to make a case for exceptional promise as a business applicant? Again, my major concern is the mention of consultant in my job role, any thoughts, advise or suggestions?
