Lost passport after applying for stage 1

Hi,

I got endorsed for Exceptional Promise today. Thanks to everyone here for being so helpful with that.

However, I sadly found a few days ago that I can’t find the passport I used to apply for stage 1. Does anyone know if this means I need to reapply for stage 1, or if I can proceed to stage 2 with my new passport?

I am aware of this page, that states that I cannot make any changes, but I’m still hopeful I can proceed.

You should be able to apply for stage 2 with a new passport, people sometimes use an almost expired passport for stage 1 and then use their new passport for stage 2, if in doubt consult an immigration lawyer.

Thank you so much! That’s quite a relief. I’ll go ahead and try my luck, as soon as the new passport arrives.

For the record:

I had to create a new account using my new passport to apply for stage 2, as the details on an unfinished application cannot be changed. It didn’t work using the email address for my first account, so I used my secondary email. Everything worked out fine and I got notification of my successful application only 5 days after applying for stage 2.
