I have been reading through all the rejections as well as success of applicants and basis that I have managed my evidences.
Though, I am still unsure which evidences of mine might fall short of Tech Nation’s criteria . I would greatly appreciate any guidance or feedback.
Mandatory Criteria
1. Scaled Public App Development
- Independently developed App X, a widely used regional utility app with over 1 million downloads.
- The app provides offline access to public transport data and is one of the top-rated apps in its category.
- Evidence includes: App store screenshots, developer console statistics, and third-party media coverage from Newspaper A.
2. Influencer-Led Organic Growth
- Collaborated with over 50 influencers to promote apps developed under a self-founded initiative.
- Achieved more than 20 million organic impressions without any paid campaigns.
- Evidence includes: Screenshots of campaign engagement and a reference letter from an influencer confirming voluntary collaboration.
3. Support Letters Highlighting Leadership
- Letters from senior professionals (VP Sales) from my previous company mentioning about my leadership.
- These letters are used to reinforce and validate the evidence submitted under this criterion.
Optional Criteria 2 – Innovation Outside Employment
(My apps earlier had ads, but from 2021 there are no ads in devotional and other applications. I’ll frame accordingly highlighting why app in play store states Contains Ads as adcode is embedded but no live ad units since 2021.)
1. Cultural and Public Utility Apps (Non-Commercial)
- Voluntarily developed over 25 Android applications under a non-profit initiative (Foundation X).
- The apps focus on devotional, educational, civic, and travel-related use cases and are all free to use and mostly ad-free.
- Evidence includes: App screenshots, download statistics, Play Store reviews, and user testimonials.
- A letter from University A’s Incubation Cell confirms the educational, social, and non-commercial impact of this work.
2. Cross-Domain Apps: Travel, Utility, Civic, Finance
- Demonstrated innovation across multiple underserved sectors by building apps addressing diverse user needs.
- Evidence includes: A summary table of apps, functional screenshots, and category-specific design examples.
3. Technical Talks at Academic Institutions
- Delivered guest lectures and technical sessions to postgraduate students (MCA and MBA) at University A and University B, focused on mobile development and technology innovation.
Optional Criteria 3 – Significant Impact at Work
1. Process Automation at Company A
- Worked as a Data Specialist and led automation of internal workflows using Python and data tools such as pandas.
- This resulted in measurable improvements in efficiency, data accuracy, and reporting speed.
- Evidence includes: Annotated script samples, before-and-after performance data, and a reference letter from a former team lead.
2. Product ownership of hyperlocal E-Commerce Platform (2020 to 2022, now app is not live on playstore)
- Led the development of a mobile app at Company B, built for a target user base exceeding 200,000.
- Served as the technical lead and product owner, overseeing end-to-end development and delivery.
- Evidence includes: Feature implementation screenshots, product documentation, and a reference letter from the CTO.
3. Career Progression
- Received internal promotions and awards at Company C in recognition of high-impact contributions to product development.
- Evidence includes: Promotion letter and an internal recognition certificate.
Planning to apply in Aug.
My app mentioned in MC 1 crossed 1 M in dec 2024, and following that I got media endorsement and invitations to talk in uni. Although uni talks wont be doing any good as evidence, I think so, but I dont have any other evidence, hence will be planning to add
Media mentioned were from May 2025 and June 2025
in Regional Marathi Newspaper Loksatta and
in Hindi Newspaper Dainik Bhaskar
have got it translated already.
