HELP: How does IHS payment work if switching visas within the UK?

Hi all,

I was recently endorsed for Exceptional Talent from within the UK i.e. I am switching from Tier 2 to Tier 1. I am making my Stage 2 application and am not being prompted to share my previous IHS number or being given any deduction for the amount already paid under Tier 2 which is unused until 2026.

Does anyone know is this deduction should happen automatically at the application stage or is the only way to proceed to make the full payment and apply for a refund later?

You have to pay new IHS then get refunded automatically or you apply for it
