GTV endorsement is about your past impact not your future potential

:bulb: UK Global Talent Visa application is judged on your past impact - not your future potential.

I’ve been seeing this often lately: brilliant applicants focusing on future plans — how they’ll scale their startup, lead AI innovation, or disrupt their industry.

But the Global Talent Visa doesn’t assess intent. It recognises demonstrated impact — the work, influence, and outcomes you’ve already created in Tech in the past 5 years.

Hi there;

When I submitted my application, I mentioned that I would be speaking at a conference on October 10th. At the time of my application, the conference hadn’t taken place yet, but before the documents were submitted to TechNation, the conference date came around, and I gave my speech. What do you think about this?

Thanks.

The last point in the post answers this - depends on one-off close to application date or consistent track record.

I see the same thing. While of course your future work is an important part of the LoRs and the Personal Statement, applicants should take great care that their past impact actually proves that. The 3 evidence format is a structured way to prove that:

  1. Self-documentation explaining the document

  2. Third-party evidences to prove your point

  3. A strong letter of reference
