Hi All,

I am Ravi, currently working as a Tech Lead at a leading travel company. I am applying for the Global Talent Visa (Exceptional Talent, Digital Category).

I have around 11 years of software development experience, where I have been fully involved in end-to-end application development. I would really appreciate your suggestions and advice on my reference letters and evidence documents. Please let me know if there are areas that can be improved or if there are additional points that would strengthen my application.

Reference Letters

  • Context: SaaS-based company with digital products widely used in the US, Singapore, Germany, and the Netherlands.
  • Reference: Letter from the Founder, confirming how my innovative contributions to their HCM tool added significant value. My ideas directly led to the development of a new tool, which has since become a major subscription-based SaaS product contributing to their revenue.

Your application has strong foundations but needs strategic adjustments to improve your chances of success. Your evidence shows impressive technical depth, but you’ll need to strengthen several key areas before submitting.

Focus on diversifying your reference letters since multiple letters from the same company can weaken your application. Your current CEO and Director letters are valuable, but consider getting your third letter from someone outside these organizations - perhaps from a client you’ve helped or a conference organizer who can speak to your industry impact. Also ensure each letter explicitly explains the relationship duration and highlights different aspects of your work to avoid redundancy.

Your evidence quality is generally good but needs better quantification and clearer impact demonstration. For your payment gateway work, include specific transaction volume metrics and performance improvements with clear attribution to your contributions. Your mentorship activities need more structure - document selection criteria, program duration, and measurable outcomes for participants. The college alumni presidency is strong but needs evidence of sustained impact over time rather than just position titles.

RL1 from my previous company where I worked with him between 2017 to 2019
RL2 from my previous company where I worked from 2019 to 2021
RL3 is from my current company.
