I have 3LORs already, I then have 3 more which details my contributions to the companies I worked for (all different companies) all from top executives. However, I’m worried that I might be having too many LORs. What do you think?
nothing to worry about, you can use thee additional ones for each criteria as external validation or if they are supporting one criteria, then better to combine them in 1 evidence so you provide additional evidences for each criteria.
Remember depending on solely reference letter not sufficient so, better to add other evidences to support your claim other than letters only.
Hi @Nelson_Kehinde you can only submit 3 LORs in the main LOR section. You can use the other 3 as part of the evidence towards the criterias as reference letters.
Having more than you need LORs is good, make sure you are using the best 3 interms of the content and the credibility of the authors. For content, the ones that rightly meet the LOR criteria, then again, using LOR as reference letter is not a good idea, as a reference letter is a validation of an evidence or should be referencing a particular evidence of a criterion.
You may want to reach out to the other authors, asking them to please rewrite a reference letter based on an evidence of a criterion instead.
Thank you Raphael, the LORs I intend to use as Reference letters have dedicated paragraphs that talk about my contributions to the company, and I intend to add github contributions and commit history as well and dashboard (statistics) where applicable.
@Nelson_Kehinde I should assume the author of the letter mentioned I am writing this LOR… Followed some of what is required for LOR letter.
You will be giving a bad impression, sating a LOR is a reference letter and the letter will not speak largely to the evidence of the criterion you are using it to reference
You see! With Tech Nation, you need to do it the best way you can.
Hi @Raphael is it possible to submit two reference letters for one evidence though? In the event where you have one from a senior member of your organization and another from a third-party contact validating a solution you worked for that involved integrating with the third party’s organization.
@BusayoMichael Yes! That’s okay. As one is internal confirmation and the other is external validation, however if the evidence in itself is not convincing having more than one reference letter talking about one evidence or in a criterion will weaken your application narrative.
