Exceptional Talent - Please review my application plan

Hi All,

I’m working on my application plan for Exceptional Talent visa. I have 10 years of experience as a Data Engineer. Currently working as Senior Data Engineer for one of the biggest travel aggregator. As a Lead for data modernisation from FinTech side of the company.

Here is my plan of documents/proofs which i want to put in my application. It would be great if this great community can help me finalise my plan. Any feedback is appreciated.

Index -

  • Tech Nation Visa application form

    • This includes a Personal Statement (maximum 1000 words in length)
  • CV with any career history included.

  • LOR

    • Senior Director, Engineering, Current Employer
    • Director of product, Fintech, Current Employer
    • VP, Fintech, Current Employer

MC :: Show that they have been recognised as a leading talent in the digital technology sector in the last 5 years-

  1. Reference letter from Director of Fintech, Current Employer mentioning

  2. My role in Leading Data Modernisation Journey for Current Employer’s FinTech on-prem Data Ecosystem to cloud.

  3. Talk about Data Lake i built for FinTech Business Unit in the company.

  4. The impact of Data Modernisation on Current Employer’s business and strict Finance related data compliances like SOx making Current Employer compliant and enabling it to get banking license.

  5. History of performance(Exceeds(3), Exceptional(1)), bonus & RSUs paid over (2x/3x more than promised) in the last 4/5 years based on performance

** OC 2 ::** Proof of recognition for work beyond the applicant’s occupation that contributes to the advancement of the field-

  1. Stackoverflow profile

  2. Profile is active for 12 years and active from 2021 and no activity in 2023.

  3. 9 bronze and 2 silver badges, 600 point as of now

  4. Can boost to 2000 in next 6 months and get more badges.

  5. GitHub (This is not the best for me)

  6. Open-Sourced 2 applications in the last 4 years which have received 50 stars and 100 forks. One application is about generic data recon i built and the other is about an application for monitoring stream applications.

  7. Opened a couple of issues and a few MRs for open source repos like AWS.

  8. Blog on Current Employer’s website about building an operational Data lake with federated catalog in snowflake.

** OC1/ OC3 ::** proven track record for innovation and impact contributions to the field an employee of a product-led digital technology company

  1. Evidence of me building a scalable data quality framework for the entire company data modernization journey, scaling to multiple BUs processing petabytes of data at scale. Measuring Data quality for one of the biggest travel data in the world.
  2. Impact on machine learning, financial reporting, compliance leading to fines. A letter to support this.
  3. GitHub screenshots, architecture diagrams, commit history, Lead role on wiki pages, etc.

This is my plan, It could be possible that this is not enough. Please help me understand how viable my plan is and if I can improve anything.

Evidence 2- how you are planning to demonstrate this? is it a self document?
Evidence 4 - how you are planning to present this? if by blog or published article? then Mandatory is fine and if by info-graphics then Optional Criteria 3 (the Impact) is more suitable.

Please note maximum number of evidences is 10 only.

Regarding Evidence 2 - I was thinking of a letter from director (this is separate from LOR) talking about -

  • My role in Leading Data Modernisation Journey for Current Employer’s FinTech on-prem Data Ecosystem to cloud.
  • Talk about Data Lake i built for FinTech Business Unit in the company.
  • The impact of Data Modernisation on Current Employer’s business and strict Finance related data compliances like SOx making Current Employer compliant and enabling it to get banking license.

The other evidense to proce MC1 would be

  • History of performance(Exceeds(3), Exceptional(1)), bonus & RSUs paid over (2x/3x more than promised) in the last 4/5 years based on performance

Regarding Evidence 4 -
Sorry for my bad Formatting, This is part of my MC1 only.

For OC3 - This along with the Data Quality framework i built and the impact of both of these on the company.

How does that look ?

Why are all your recommendation letters from the same employer? Your employer blog post is not considered a reputable media publication. I think if you have more than 1 opensource publication, you can use one in MC the other in OC2. You have something but the concern is the presentation and how you align them with the evidence you are trying to prove.
