Discrepancy in the official wording for Optional Criteria 1

Hi everyone - At first mention of OC1 the guidelines state:

  • they have made significant technical, commercial or entrepreneurial contributions to the field as a founder or employee of a product-led digital technology company

Later, in the examples of evidence section the guideline states:

  • How do I demonstrate that I have a proven track record or examples of innovation in the digital technology sector as a founder or senior executive of a product-led digital technology company or an employee working in a new digital field or concept?

Quite a significant technicality here as I am senior leadership and founding team, not founder. Will dictate if I need to prove new digital concept or not.

Any help here please?

I’d be glad to express my opinion, but I’m not sure I understand your question. What’s you job title?
You mean, you are just mentoring a team, or you are a leading employee (but not a founder)?

If you haven’t founded a company, but still work for it as an employee (leading or not it doesn’t matter much) you still may apply if you made a significant innovative contribution and be able to prove it.

You don’t need to be a founder. You can be a senior executive.
