Digital Technical Service - Definition

What is the exact meaning of - "Digital Technical Service ?

The company like OLR retail / TCS count as Digital Technical service?

Just googled OLR retail and it looks like a consulting company, and so is TCS.

Neither of them fulfil the criteria for a digital technical services, as neither of them are proprietary tech builders.

I have a similar query. What if someone has past experiences of working in analytics consulting company, but now working as director in a product-led organization from more than a year. So, Are we eligible to apply for GTV? As it is mentioned on tech nations website that employees from consulting are not eligible to apply?

Each case is independent and the merits of the case should be determined individually. If a person’s profile is mostly consulting, with a 1 year record of product company, then it might be hard to build a strong case. However, if a consulting stint happened to be amidst other product-led experiences, then that can be presented as stronger case.

Technically,
What makes difference for a developer who is developing e-commerce application for a company who has/wants to build their own application,
And
For a company who has got the e-commerce client project in which developer working for?

@Sachin I think your question is misplaced on this forum - that should be targeted at the TechNation team that has set the rules.

(Ps: the reason for the rule seems to relate to filtering. There are a lot more candidates from the consulting world wanting to emigrate to U.K. than can be accommodated on the isles. Perhaps the Home Office has learnt their lessons from HSMP times?)

Thank you @Shreeniwas_Iyer for your response. I completely understand your point. Underneath is the additional information about the profile, request you to please rate the profile and advise on few points. I really appreciate you all being taking out time to answer. Thank you.

  2. If I decide to go ahead and apply for Stage 1, can you suggest any important points that can make my case stronger ?

  3. As I cannot take recommendations from current organization, please suggest who could be better recommenders. Senior leaders of previous consulting Organisation or co-founders / CEO of own start ups who previously worked with me in leadership roles above Vice President ?

  4. Can we present ourselves as internationally recognised individual. As I have travelled in multiple countries for work and critical implementations ?

It looks like your latest engagement is definitely on the right lines. However, it depends on how your past experience is presented and how much the panel thinks you are a consultant vs not.

I would suggest you to focus on what makes you a good professional in a product organisation and how your past life contributes to where you are, is probably the most important point you can make to make the case stronger.

Why can’t you take recommendations from your current organisation? It seems that your current organisation is your strongest point in the profile. I just read the criteria for recommenders and nothing seem to exclude your current organisation, so this seems like a strange exclusion.

  1. Can we present ourselves as internationally recognised individual. As I have travelled in multiple countries for work and critical implementations ?

Which part of your application do you think is going to benefit by presenting yourself as an internationally recognised individual? If it is part of your general application, sure, why not? We all did it.

Thank you @Shreeniwas_Iyer. I really appreciate your time and guidance into this. Below are my responses.

Sorry, I didn’t frame my question correctly. You are absolutely correct that there is no exclusion. I personally don’t want to take recommendations from current organization as my stint is very less here and I do not want to give an impression that I am exploring other options outside. I hope you can understand. Therefore only option left is to get recommendations from past links.

Yes, it will be part of general application. But, I was also trying to figure out if I can use this as an evidence to support any mandatory or optional criterion by presenting proof of my work and visas of all countries, UK offer letter, previous BRP Card etc. Don’t know if this will help or not.

I understand but my suggestion is to sit down with your current employers and take them to trust. You have got to use the strongest link in your profile.
