Assess my evidences for ET, please

Could you please review my profile and provide any feedback, comments, or recommendations? I would truly appreciate your insights.

  • Completed a PhD focused on applying machine learning in the finance sector.

  • Over 15 years of experience in risk management and process optimization within the insurance industry. Although my primary role was outside the digital tech sector, I have gained substantial experience in technology as a freelancer.

  • Evid.1: Published several papers in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals on machine learning in 2014.

  • Evid.2: Founded a Fintech (RiskTech) company in 2023.

  • Evid.3: As a freelancer and product manager, I contributed to the design and development of a RiskTech software tailored for risk assessment, specifically for local insurance companies. I secured contracts and sold three licenses to insurers. Each client provided a certificate detailing the transaction, including my name, role, software specifications, and sales amount, as well as installation and delivery confirmation.

  • Evid.4: Developed the backend of a machine learning-driven insurance recommendation system (RS) using Python and sold it to a local broker, serving as both product developer and manager. The client, an insurance broker, provided a certificate detailing the transaction, including my name, role, software specifications, sales amount, and confirmation of installation and delivery.

  • Evid.5: Received an endorsement from a Canadian designated organization for the Start-Up Visa program, based on the development of the insurance recommendation system (RS).

  • Evid.6: Received an endorsement and nomination as a talent from the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

  • Evid.7: Received letters of appreciation for my speech at Insurtech events.

Please note that, since the development of the software was private, I do not have a GitHub account. Recently, however, we created a new account specifically to improve the code privately for RS software. Additionally, there is no press release available for the software.

Regarding the application for Exceptional Talent:

1- I assume that the published papers from 2014 (Evid.1) would not be acceptable. Is that correct?

2- I also believe that providing a snapshot of the software, including its code and interface, along with reference letters from clients, would not be deemed acceptable. Is that correct?

3- The letters of appreciation do not specify the number of audience members.

Please assess the following evidence:

A- Evid.2, Evid.5, and Evid.6 for MC.

B- Three different Evid.3 and one Evid.4 for OC1.

C- Three different Evid.7 (letters of appreciation for speeches at Insurtech events) that do not mention the number of audience members for OC4.

I would advise reviewing the guide Tech Nation Visa Guide - Tech Nation
Freelancing / outsourcing work isn’t valid evidence so that rules out your 3 & 4
OC4 is about academic achievements, talk during events don’t fit there.

For your questions

  1. Yes, that’s too early
  2. The software itself + code sample might well be OK to submit, but since it’s freelanced work it might not be accepted.
  3. That’s not good, try and get new ones that mention audience size

Hi hsafra,
Thank you so much for your reply.

Apart from the fact that the work is freelance, it’s promising to hear that the software + code sample would be acceptable as evidence.
