Applying from USA – Do I need to send passport to VFS even if I uploaded documents?

I have read as much documentation as I could, yet I still cannot find anything that covers my use case.

With VFS, you can either upload your docs yourself or use a scanning service.

I chose to upload the docs myself.

To provide biometrics, I visited a USIC support center, not a VFS office.

So… what I do not understand is, do I still send my passport (or anything else) to the VFS Global UKVI Visa Processing Hub, or not?

Really at a loss here.

In my case, it was TLS Contact. I uploaded my documents, did my biometrics and my passport was physically submitted.
I believe this is how it is supposed to be with VFS too.

I can’t find any info online about “USIC support center” though.
